Green County Government
The county has a 31 member Board of Supervisors elected by the voters for two-year terms. The 31 board of supervisors are elected by district and they elect the Chairman. The supervisors meet in regular session once a month, typically the second Tuesday (7:30 p.m.), in the Green County Courthouse in the county board room, formerly the circuit court room, which is located at 1016 16th Avenue.
To be placed on the agenda, individuals must contact their County Board Supervisor at least 2-3 weeks prior to the meeting.

Green County
County offices are headed by the County Clerk, Mike Doyle who manages the day-to-day operations of county government. Their offices are located in the Green County Courthouse, 1016 16th Avenue in downtown Monroe. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

County Clerk of Courts
The office of the Green County Clerk of Circuit Court maintains Civil Litigation Records, Criminal Records, Deed Records, Plats, Notary Public Records, Trade Name Affidavits, Corporation Records, Soldier Discharge Records, and issues U.S. passports. The office is locate din the Green County Justice Center. The Clerk of Circuit Court is Carol Thompson.

Records
Green County is fortunate to have records dating back to the early 1800s for marriage and wills and birth records from 1924. Visitors are welcome to search any county records, or requests for information may be directed to office personnel; however there is a very small staff available to assist
