9/17, 9/18 and 9/19

Come Celebrate Green County Cheese Days Sept 17-19,2010 in Downtown Monroe Wisconsin!
Experience Old World tradition at an out-of-this world celebration. Green County Cheese Days is the oldest and largest food fest in the Midwest (Started in 1914)– honoring Swiss heritage, cheesemaking and dairy farming traditions in Green County Wisconsin. Back when "buy local" was really the only option if you wanted to eat
(and not a marketing mantra), and long before "foodie tourism" was a buzzword term, the people of Green County created a festival based on local cheese. More than 3,000 visitors traveled by train, and horse
and carriage to attend the first festival. Today's attendance at this every-other-year event is estimated at more than 150,000 - including regional, national, and international visitors.

The Future Forward Green County Initiative reactivated community members with a kickoff meeting on January 8, hosted by Minhas Brewery.  Over 50 members shared ideas and set goals on ways to attract, retain and engage young professionals in our community.  The ultimate goal is to attract future leaders to live and work in our area, to help grow the future of Green County.
